While a topical tattoo fading product can not completely remove a tattoo, it can significantly help erase and fade an unwanted tattoo. Using a topical fading cream generally exhibits the following traits:

Home tattoo removal and fading has never been easier or more affordable than it is with topical tattoo removal products such as those listed above. These products are generally considered to be the safest and most cost-effective way to help erase an unwanted tattoo in the privacy and security of one's home. While some consumers will still choose to use laser tattoo removal treatments, many have realized that spending thousands of dollars and experiencing a significant amount of pain is simply not worth it: especially when topical tattoo removal creams and gels are able to help erase and fade unwanted tattoos for a fraction of the tattoo removal cost associated with laser tattoo removal treatments.
Tattoo removal creams such as Fadeplex, TatMed, Profade, and Wrecking Balm work by helping bring the tattooed layers of skin closer to the surface so that the ink will fade away.
However, finding a safe and effective tattoo removal cream is often a very frustrating experience as almost all of the manufacturers of these products claim that their product works and is safe to use. This is obviously not true. For example, some of the tattoo removal products we reviewed contain potentially dangerous chemicals such as Hydroquinone and TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid). Hydroquinone will help prevent new skin from developing pigment which will help fade an unwanted tattoo, but it has also been linked to the development of cancer which is why it has been completely banned in countries like Japan, England, France and Germany. TCA is another potentially dangerous chemical as it literally burns off the layers of skin. While some tattoo removal companies who use TCA in their formula will claim it is safe, the reality is that an overwhelming amount of skin care professionals advise their patients to never use TCA without the presence of a trained medical professional.
We strongly suggest avoiding trying to remove a tattoo with products that contain either Hydroquinone or TCA and instead recommend buying products that use safer ingredients such as Alpha Arbutin or Salicylic Acid. These tattoo removal ingredients are not only effective, but they are also generally safe to use on the skin.

Alternative Tattoo Removal Methods
While you already know about tattoo fading creams, laser tattoo removal, and TCA tattoo removal, you may not know that there are also a few other tattoo removal methods. However, please note that these other options are both generally expensive as well as potentially dangerous.
Dermabrasion (sanding the skin off until the tattoo is faded)
Salabrasion (rubbing the tattoo with a salt block until the tattoo is faded)
Excision (literally cutting out the tattoo and sewing the skin back together)
Skin Grafts (placing non-tattooed portions of the skin over the tattoo)
Our product reviews are based on a strict set of criteria which includes researching and evaluating ingredients, averaging customer feedback, and comparing prices to determine the best tattoo remover products available on the market. |
